Join Us - Daughters of the King Retreat

​On Saturday, September 26, from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm, the Emmanuel Episcopal Church Daughters of the King will host our annual Quiet Morning retreat. Emmanuel Deacon Karen Hoida will lead the in-person retreat, and all women in Emmanuel are warmly invited to attend.

Doors open in Buck Hall at 8:30 am, and participants can enjoy a light breakfast. The retreat will begin at 9:00 am and conclude at noon; the daughters will serve lunch. To attend, contact Debbie Thalen in the Church office – (530) 273-7876 – by September 21. The retreat is free to attend.

Deacon Karen Hoida and her husband moved to the area 13 years ago because they love the mountains;  she was recently ordained as a Deacon in 2025, and the Episcopal Church’s Bishop Megan Traquair placed her at Emmanuel Church. The congregation very quickly realized that Karen’s warmth, deep spiritual devotion, intelligence and kind nature were an ideal fit for the community. Deacon Karen welcomes you – and wherever you are in your spiritual journey –  to the annual Quiet Morning retreat.
